To the Beach but with which detector?

Ran into one of the groundskeepers at Fairgrounds today while I was tectin. He said his friend goes to the beach every Monday right along the boardwalk area and usually has some really nice scores. Jewelry, coins and once a Rolex watch. So why not go since it's only about a 40 minute drive. I'd be tectin in dry sand only. Ace250 or Scorpion? Anyone have experience with either of these on dry sand?

ace 250 is very good for u. it easy to learn and to use. in dry sand works very well. u wont miss a target . scorpion is a good md , i do not have it but i heard it is a sniper over the gold.

on dry sand i use the ace 250(now I've got a at pro which mean the best). and found Lotta good items...

take care.

I would be using the ACE 250, because there will be lots of trash along with good targets mixed in with it. Unless you have the time and patience to dig it all, the ACE 250 with the readout screen should do a great job.

Good luck! It would be nice to see you post some great finds.

I think you would do better with the scorpion using the TR mode to disc out the salt. The All Met Mode will be good on the dry sand.
The Ace 250 has fixed gb and does not get good depth in the wet sand, over dry it is fine and has the advantage of TID.

Just an opinion

On dry sand, the Ace will be perfect. You can get the 9x12 inch coil as well for better ground coverage and a bit more depth.
Mick Evans.

use the ace set at 4 bars sensitivy, and everything notched out left of nickel in jewlery mode, good for wet or dry sand. Wayne No false signals

Thanks guys. Looks like the ACE has it. I'll giver a shot tomorrow AM bright and early.

Sorry to say I never made it to the beach:cry: Dawned on me I was going to need a sand scoop so ordered one but hasn't arrived yet.

.
In the meantime went down and picked up an AT Pro from a local dealer. $500 flat out the door. Took it out for first time today. Got a ladies silver ring (I think) still trying to clean it up. Some clad and the usual trash.
