To Mike, Alice and Royal

Last Friday, Tom met me in the woods (where else this time of year) and said, "Hey bro, I got somethin' special and have been waitin' to share it with you." So he pulls out this hunk of meat and rips it in two and says, "Hey. It's moose, all the way from Canada, compliment of Mike and Alice, special delivered by Linda."

Well you know what we did? We divided it in two (I got the bigger half since I'm the oldest, you know) and we chowed down on some of the best tasting meat I have EVER tasted.

Listen, y'all. We could get RICH if we opened up a Bar-B-Que place featuring that stuff. It is so good. Mike, you and Alice will have to share your secret marinade. I'll just bet it would work on beek as well. It was so good. Thank you so much.

And an extra special thank you, Mike for the beautiful recovered cross and chain. I will always keep it.

Now I want to include Royal in this one: You three have really made my sister's day. She needed that so very much. It is just amazing. I read all the negative stuff about online relationships. But no one ever hears of this forum and who we all really are and how much we care for one another.

I really hope to trek to the North Woods next year. I just have to justify it in my own mind or find the way to bring Virginia as well. Maybe we can find a way around the expense. But I have never seen Linda enjoy herself so much. To hear her talk of you all is such a blessing. I am so envious and will do all I can to escort her back next year.

Thank you so much for making her feel like family. Mike and Alice, your well reminded her so much of our childhood. People once came all the way from town to visit and to get a drink of that near ice-cold, pure well water!

Thanks again for such hospitality. The South has nothin' on you guys and gal. <><

Linda for bringing us sunshine, both in our skys and our hearts.

We wish you could have joined her.

Now that is the last mushy, girly like thing I am gonna say. :D She was a joy but we don't want her head to grow another four pounds

your post and glad you liked the meat. You are right, it would be killer barbque! And you are also correct that I am so much better! I have a story to post when I figure out how to open the dang photos!!!! I love you brother, and you better feel lucky you got as much moose as you did! Heck,...I got hungry on the way home! :)

But if we keep on...I will not be able to deal with her down here.

What are you doin' at the computer this time of day???? It must be raining!

Alice had some backup from our constant barbs :) and Sunny is a real joy to have around. I really would like for you, Tom and Linda, plus your wives and husbands to come on up. We can get in some hunting [detecting and deer/grouse/elk/moose],fishing, and just kick back and relax.

That moose was perhaps the best that i have eaten as well.

As to the marinade, if you want it, here is the recipe. Take Realemon, olive oil, a small amount of bbq sauce, a bit of red wine, some oregano thyme, basil, sage, celeric and mix 'em all together. select a low pan and put your steaks in it and pour this concoction over it. I let them sit for at least 2 hours before I cook the meat. Occasinally stir to insure that all the meat is well covered with the marinade. Barbeque as normal. I also do chicken and shrimp kebobs this way.

We did find it kinda funny that her daughters were saying "Okay Mom, you are leaving the country to go and meet some people that you have met on the internet, is that right? Isn't that what you warned us about?" "Yeah, yeah..... do as I say, not as I do "

Anyway, I was great to talk to you on the phone. I cannot wait to meet you.

All the best

Sunny skies, calm seas
