To M6 users

I am thinking of getting a M6 not that I need another detector but I'm currently using a MXT and to be honest I get a little tired of the chattering which brings my next question to the M6 users do you miss the threshold? Don't get me wrong the MXT is a great machine.

Just turn the threshold down until you just can't hear it.

I think the M6 is Whites best kept secret. However I don't think the M6 would compliment the MXT. Mostly because they are so closely releated. So by reducing your threshold (silent search) you should get close to what the M6 sounds like except for the 7 tone mode the M6 has.

I have only had two detectors with an audible threshold and I don't miss it at all when I use the M6. Unless I am in an extremely trashy area, I run it with zero discrimination anyway so I am hearing anything that would break the threshold. Awesome machine! I recently purchased an Etrac and am trying to make myself learn it but the M6 always comes out whenever I think there is a good possibility of finding gold.

For what it's worth, should you decide to add the M6 to your arsenal, the M6 and MXT DO NOT run well close together. EXTREME cross talk between the two. At least that was a problem for me the 2 times an M6 owner and I tried to hunt together. You are forced to hunt yards apart.
Just a "heads up".

"chattering" Sounds like you have your gain turned up a bit too much.Turn down your gain until the "Chattering" stops. This will be the the maximum gain that your ground allows. Also "Chattering" can be caused by "EMI" (electro magnetic interference) which can be overhead or underground power lines, electric fences included buried dog fences.radio stations and or any other device that is emitting powerful waves. As for your "Threshold",turn the knob until you can hear it,,,then turn it back until the sound stops.

I liked the M6 way better than the MXT.

No muss - no fuss! Easy to use and
a very capable detector.

As someone else said ... it's a
"best kept secret" !!
