What is the real story about Fisher and their Minelab patent issue, I heard that Fisher infringed on Minelab's patent on Multi Frequencies (FBS) and what (Fisher) machine did they do this with? Thanks for the "Rest of the Story" in advance.

I've never heard of such a story either, I do know that the CZ's were dual frequency detectors, but I'm thinking that was before Minelabs was doing much of anything.
Also, the FBS deal Is a little deceiving in that people get the idea that the detector is operating on like a dozen channels at the same time, but when you turn them on they sample a channel range and then select ONE! that is the quietest operation, not a set of channels.
Their manual is vague about the multi channels and even tech support will not clarify it, they like it vague and allusive it makes their detectors HOT topics and a good many people draw to that kind of marketing.

And I want to point out that I'm not playing Minelabs up or down, good or bad!

I knew about the freq's. before I bought mine. And how they operate. I understand that there are 5 banks of frequencies up to 28 of them, when ya do a G.B. it will pick the quietest set, and operate from there.

So then, Fisher never got sued for 7 million, and only had 3 million in the bank and had to sell their business to Texas Instruments for 4 million to get the rest to pay Minelab. I was not the only one this was told to, there seemed to me to be info in "news" type of story long time ago. And while we're at it, is there any truth to the story about KellyCo re-selling traded in Fisher machines and changing the serial numbers and sold them as new? They would instruct buyers to send the machine back to them, not the factory for warranty repairs. Someone for some reason sent theirs back to the factory and when the factory got it, they told that person there was NO warranty on an expired one. They also did an investigation on their own and found out what KellyCo was doing. I do know that KellyCo could not sell any Fisher machines for a very long time. I suppose this is all a figment of my imagination as well....nge

There's a guy who posts here under the name of "metalpopper" who can probably answer all your questions.

But since those weren't technology questions, this is the wrong forum. Try the Views Forum: http://www.findmall.com/list.php?20

You are all skirting my questions by making me go to other forums, then when I go there, I am told to come back here. Everything I have questioned must be true. So, because of basically being called a LIAR. I am leaving TNET!

Hey, if it makes you feel any better, I left TNET, too. But not for that same reason.

nge,
Dude, sorry that happened.

I'll not skirt your question...everything you asked about can be searched for in Google...and proven wrong.
Dave already told you so. The burden of proof is now on you, not him or us.

The number one rule for any treasure hunter is: "Do Your Research First!"

I don't know for sure, but I suspect Dave and others stopped responding when your line of questioning started getting that tinfoil hat wearing conspiracy theorists vibe.
Just a guess. It certainly hit me that way.

And...by the way...it was not Texas Instruments that purchased Fisher...it was First Texas Products, LLC. That's easy to look up, too.

Now, relax, take a deep breath, and go out with your detector and have some fun.
:)

No one on TreasureNet called you a liar, in fact there is nothing posted by you on this subject for the last year which is as far back as I looked....
