To Beach or not to Beach

Ok, spotted a school yard that looking interesting a few weeks ago while driving around.
Decided last night this morning would be a good time to try it. Ahhh but, they had Canada Day goings on at the waterfront for two days and the beach was semi crowded. Thoughts of lost coins and jewelry at the beach danced in my head......

Got up this morning, with no intentions of switching plans to hunt the beach. As I know the 5 other hard core hunters might be out there, one hunts at night. At 6:30am headed out to the school but, just had to drive by the beach and take a look. Under the gazebo I spotted what looked like a treasure hunter assembling his detector. A strong urge inside of me was tempting me to stop and hunt the beach too, before it's all gone......In the end kept on going to the school.

At the school I was hyped up to hit the back. Parked out front, grabbed my gear and headed out back. I was shocked to see what looked like grass from my orig drive by was pea gravel and cement gravel rocks. Hunted the grassy area by the ball diamond and only found a few cents. Kick'in my self at that point for not heading to the beach.......there was a small set of swings off a little ways surrounded by sand with some grass in front of it and back...

Set my Tesoro Eldorado up to hunt all metal with the threshold turned back after ground balancing. Hunted in all metal mode with an occasional check in disc set just above iron. Started finding bottle caps, hairpins, hair clips, pull tabs , nails and brad nail size
steel. Starting to remind me of a beach in Barrie. Kept on digging, and coming up with a penny, dime and quarter. The nag inside of me was still saying pack up hit the local beach while there are some finds left. All of a sudden the skies were getting dark, weather forecast called for rain this morning. At the same time quarters and nickels were starting to pop out of the sand, more dimes, then Toonies and Loonies as well as pennies. Decided to calm myself and pretend the sand around the swing set was a mini beach. Kept on hunting until 10am when I had to quit for the day.

Had pretty good luck for the short period of hunting.
