I have never been metal detecting and today ordered a Titan 2000xd with the 10" coil and a Titan 2000xd with the 8" coil for my wife.
Was this a good choice for a beginner at this hobby ???

the titan 2000xd is the first detector i had. been several years and i don't use it anymore. however i still have it. and keeping it. i brought it for my son. we now have xterra's. when we were using it we found alot of clad at the parks. the more we learned about detecting we brought different detectors. the titan was our first and we did find some deep coins with it. hunting a old abandon town hall that we got permission to hunt we found some deep wheat's about 6 inches. made us feel good about the detector. took it to my mother inlaws in the county and we were able to hunt a old church late 1800's. we found some Indians i know where at least 8 inches down. the detector hit on them good. the titan has some nice features and will do a very good job.

Thats a Discovery 2200 made by Bounty Hunter, it should do you well.

I've got the Legacy 3300, which is the Titan 3000 XD / Discovery 3300 (the next model up).

I've found loads of clad coins (over $44.00 since January of this year), 2 war buttons an Indian Head Nickle, 5 wheaties.

The Titan 2000 XD should do you well as a first time user, just get out and use it and learn how it works.

Good luck.

I've got a Radio Shack version of the 2000 and of the 3000, both good machines. Light, simple, and not bad depth at all. You might consider a 4" nugget coil, especially if you're coinshooting. About 35 bucks. Your 10" coil will go deeper but won't separate targets as well. It'll also pick up more ground mineralization if that's a problem where you live. Enjoy your new hobby!
