Tired, sore and nearly heat exhausted from the hot weather & humidity yesterday, 7-31, but I went detecting at a city park....

I hadn't been out since June 6 for a day of detecting except for one hour on July 11 when it rained...found 18 coins in the amt of $1.06! After from 5-6 hours yesterday,,,,by stopping and resting a lot....I found 56 coins worth $7.09 and like Steve just got crumbs, as someone had already cleaned out the playgrounds! Did a lot of walking and feel every inch of it!

Does anyone know what the iron thing is and the bracelet like thing with flowers...the porcelain is broken and not as nice as the picture shows. Also could be off a purse! Was nice to get out but wished it wasn't so hot and humid and the ground wasn't so hard and dry! Left a lot of coins which I couldn't get to very easily!

God Bless!
Betty

a Sacky dollar coin didn't you ? The bracelet is just that - in my opinion. I dug one very much like yours not too long ago. Mine was stamped silver - did you check yours carefully ? Glad you got out - it's better to have gone out digging and be tired than to sit at home and wish you had. Good digs, Steve in so az

I would think the bracelet would be an antique based on the way it latches together. Your local historical society/museum might be able to give more info - same with the iron item which I'm guessing might be half of a belt buckle. the other half that would be on the other end of the belt would have two parellel bars forming a U shape that the T section of the iron item would go into - then with a twist it would be locked together. I guess if you draw a U on a piece of paper lying with it legs pointing to the right and then drawing the T lying sideways with the short legs near the left of the sideways U you might get an idea of what I'm talking about. (Or not).

Congrats on those great finds, Betty

Well, I've got to tell you... you did a heck of a lot better than me this weekend! :) Nice digs!

Now...get some rest!:)

I'm glad you got to get out and dig a little.
