I' i,ve been looking through some of the old post here. I think I'll give that 24 hours a little more thought.
there is a lot of things to consider basically I'm looking for a good quality detector for wading in the surf,
or along a river bank.

Excabular 1000
Excabular 2
Fisher CZ-21
Detector Pro Diver
Fisher Aquanat 1280X
Teroro Tigershark
Detector Pro Wader
Garrett Infinium PI machine
Whites PI Pro PI machine
JW Fisher Pulse 8X PI machine

Sir, As a DFX owner you might look at the Beach Hunter ID I think it is like a water proof DFX, the PI units are very deep and will find every thing! You can and will dig fish hooks @ 18" and they love iron too, but on the beach I dig almost everything anyway. The thing about the Xcal and most water units is the weight in the water they are fine out very heavy, I use a PI in the water and a sov. GT on the sand it is a killer combo. Good luck Tom P.S. get a good scoop too!

I was reading through someones comments last night. I ran across some who said that they had or someone they knew had 2 of the BHID break because of waves. I couldn't find it again or i would have quoted it. Have you heard of this?

Have the BHID and like it.I also use it hunting soccer feilds and found rings their. I still think it's the person behind the machine that counts. I did read about those BHID that got broken , to me the operator was probably careless and maybe should not have put himself in that situation.:whites:

I found that my dfx is pretty durable . I don't kill snakes with but i hear the BHID is it's equivalent for water.

I posted that. My friend who runs another site. He got beat up a lot in Florida and he used them all the time in MI. He broke both the coils on them. The surf was pounding him.

Thanks scubadetector, I knew i had seen it somewhere. there are so many detectors to choose from. i want buy something that doesn't require a repair job after each use. I'm leaning towards a EXCAL 2 or the BHID .

Your not making things easier Mike. it looks like a good machine though. I do like the side mounting option. How is that attached?

This is the last related question. As I'm moving along in "lets say chest deep water" and have my high dollar scoop.
what else should i have, as far as what type of pouch will let me separate trash and good stuff and not loose the good stuff. also whats a good practice for going from search coil to scoop and netting my find. I know I'm going to need a lot of practice so any advice would be highly appreciated.

I believe that I'm going to go with the BHID. I've had good luck on land with the DFX. so why not stick the h20 equivalent

I want to thank all of you who offered your help
