TIRED OF DIGGING BOTTLECAPS WITH YOUR ACE 350?? Here's a little trick..( I hope I didn't already post )

you can use in the field to knock those caps for a loop and it only takes seconds. I call it "Garrett's Logo Discriminator." To check your belltone to see if it's a bottlecap or a coin switch to "zero mode", center the target, drag the coil straight back, wiggling it gently side to side about an inch each way. When the target passes under the Garrett logo on the tip of the coil the signal will change to boop! boop! if it's a bottlecap and the cursor will come to rest under the red iron icon. If it's a coin the belltone will continue and the cursor will fall under the coins icons. It's just that simple.

Hey thanks Uncle Willy! Kinda like the old vertical edge pass used to ID bottle caps with DD coils.:wiggle: Nice to use when coin shootin' in an area that's loaded with bottle caps.
Me? I say just dig it all:goodnight: Thanks for sharing! Happy Hunting!:)

Is there a similar trick with the Ace 250 ??

Don't no. Haven't tried it yet. Think it only works with the DD coil. Going to try it on the PRO and see if it works on that.

Hell I don't know. I have a hard time keeping track of everybody and all the posts on here, even remembering my posts.

motion Discriminators, and a Concentric or a DD coil.

This is a technique that has been used for decades by me and others who learned long ago how to deal with bottle caps and some shallow rusty tin in old ghost towns and the like. I have taught this technique, actually two techniques, since 1981, and used them before that. I posted a write-up about it under a Tips & Techniques article you are welcome to print out. It is in Audio Target Classification, and works both audibly and visually. You can access it at our Society's website or e-mail me at monte@ahrps.org for directions. The http : // and www. lead the way.
