Here are some tips from my findings.

Good tips and thanks for sharing. I was one of those guys who felt the nox really like iron but I took out a comparable machine of a different company and dug just as much iron. I began with a classic ID which was really good in iron so that was all I had to go on but I have since used several different brands and they are the same or worse than the nox. I now use all of what was mentioned in the video and look for the vdi's to jump from the 30's to single digits to help telll me it is iron.

The machine will hunt. I see a lot of naysayers but the majority like it,

The Nox is great in the iron. Once the machine trains the operator ( the operator has to be willing), the Nox is tough to beat.

Thanks Calabash! I agree with you when it comes to the AT series. I had the Max for about a day and sold it.. the crackling audio drove me nuts. Im still getting used to hunting the iron with the Equinox but getting better. I gave you a shoutout in my last video. Your honest reviews are fun to watch. Like you im not a fanboy of any company i just want a detector that works for me. Thanks for the help!

The video was very helpful. I see your point how your test garden can help you. My small 1/3 acre has about 6" of good grey dirt/sand loam then GA red clay. Front yard is worse, about 2 inches of top fill and then GA red clay. So that would not be a good representation of where I dig in Civil War sites and parks. But the idea of burying a CW bullet about 8-10" inches down on the site I am hunting and checking the best 800 modes and settings to locate the bullet is an excellent idea and I tried it. Believe it or not, the gold1 and gold2 gave me the best audio and TID readings for the three ringer.

That's a good video thanks for posting , I am still being fooled by deep like plough blades , in deep iron what settings are people using please

Deep iron is gonna get you some times with all machines. I really don't see any settings that will change that. One clue is when you dig a foot down and its screaming signal but be careful not to pass it might be a civil war belt plate at a foot. The shovel is the best discriminator... Iron bias 1 is what I use.
