Tips for CZ6(a)

How about some tips on the CZ6a detector? I have read others (Mike's Page) but am beginning to think that all CZs have their own little quirks. I would really like to know where nickels fall on your CZ. Mine seem to favor the nickel/foil bounce. Percentage wise how often does your detector say "Nickel" and it is a nickel? Also , is it possible to distinguish a quarter high tone from a penny/dime high tone? Differences?? Thanks for answering

My experience with my machine is I get the foil to nickle bounce on the older V nickles where as most of the Jeffs and Buffs bang nickle both ways.
I think I would say my odds of it being a nickle on a solid nickle hit is atleast 50/50. Depends on where I'm hunting of course, in a school yard with lots of broken pulltabs ratio will go up but in an older site ratio favors nickles more. I love vco pinpointing , It tells you alot about the target, nickles sound round and smooth while while pulltabs sound load and harsh.
I never noticed a difference between any of the coin sounds.

Older nickles such as the V and shield and extremely deep jefferson will come in low in most ID units therefore expect a foil to nickle bounce especially if a real old places and yep that bounce could also be a nice gold ring with valuable stones...
As far as tones nope 3-4 tones depending on what model you are using are all the same but those that hunt a lot find a silver coin just gives a more mellow tone and believe me its subtle and comes with experience.
As far as the nickle segment sort of depends on your area as some days the percentage is very high versus junk and other days it goes down with junk imitating. Also found several nice gold rings in nickle segment but all in all CZ's are good nickle units.
Read Mikes page over again as certainly lots of CZ tips...by far the best CZ page available....
