When I'm searching a beach I'll pick a block between several buildings and go up towards the buildings and down to the surf in overlapping patterns. After I've walked several miles and covered about a 100 yds of beach, I'll look back and discover a pattern to where I've dug the most targets. It gives you a rough idea of where things maybe on a given day. But as usual the tides change things on a daily basis.
