Thanks for the tip Surfdigger but I am starting to get discouraged with beach hunting. Today is was my 10th attempt at beach hunting and did not find any jewlry today.
Not sure why I am not finding rings. My detector is pretty good, it is a Safari and finds clad very deep in dry or wet sand.
Totay all my finds, Pennies, dimes and quarters were all very deep. Not one of them less than 6 inches, I mean I had to dig deep holes for them so I am pretty sure if I only put my coil a ring I would get one but not haviing much luck. All the coins I have found were around the mid tide line NOT at waters edge at low tide as others suggest.
I have not found a single ring yet. Only jewelry have found was on the beach and was a silver earring that was only a couple inches down and came in like gangbusters.
Today I was doing a zigzag then after a hit a 20' grid.
Is there anything I am doing wrong? I read about people who get 3-4 rings a day, I've been to 9 beaches so far and haven't got a single ring.
Really starting to get discouraged over beach detecting.
Tomorrow we're going relic hunting. I seem to have good luck with that.
