Finds are from the last few hunts since my last post. All finds shown were found at pretty close public city parks, old schools and one fairgrounds with my Minelab eTrac metal detector.
The tiny 1872 Prussian coin was a solid 9 inches deep and red like a faint war nickel. I was happy to get that as it was the last thing I was expecting to see with 12-16 Ferrous/Conductivity numbers. It was a bonus that the coin was part silver.
The first year barber dime was found at the same site and was pushing 11 inches deep as it was way down there.
Another deep coin was the 1917 Canadian dime (see picture with orange Garrett pin pointer). That one was about 9 inches deep.
The Red Ryder Lucky coin was so corroded that I couldn't see any detail on it until I started getting rough with a brass brush. The Red Ryder radio show ran from 1942-1951. Yes, it is the same Red Ryder BB gun Ralphie got in the "Christmas Story" movie.
The 10 Cent merchant token was pulled from a local fairgrounds. The token's town has a population < 75.
Also pulled at the fairgrounds is that mystery item picture (long silver plated item in my hand). All guesses are welcome on that one.
Yesterday before the rain hit again, I dug a deep 12-25 Ferrous/Conductivity signal close to home and got lucky as a corroded washer was masking and skewing the signal for the 1945 silver war nickel and 1960 silver dime in the same hole. That was a good way to end the day.
