Little silver coin slump going here, so currently down to posting wheaties. Did have one hole this morning that had 3 of those rascals in it. Over all for the morning stroll, I did dig 9 of them. Teens to 50's for dates. Not to dwell on the wheat cents thing, but the A T does seem to love em. And far more often then not, I know when one's there.

Actually, it is approaching the time of the year when hunting slows for many of us down here in the mid south. We deal with un-mowed grass, heat and humidity, and brick hard ground. Now, it's you northern folks time to be posting up all those sweet finds. And, if I am fortunate, maybe I can post some yankee silver, too, shortly. HH jim tn

When I find it I will post it Jim..None today when I went out....

Jim you're in right location if you're finding wheat pennies, a silver coin will pop up sooner or later.

I'm sitting here looking at 10 wheat pennies from my last two hunts. No silver for me either

This weather is fixing to get miserably hot and humid.

It won't be long before it gets awful hot here and I head to the water, in the water. You've been having a real productive spring.

Glad you got out and found some wheaties, Jim. I've been trying since last week and just can't get going. Mama was sick all last week and missed a doctor's appointment and was extremely ill this am and missed another test they had scheduled for her. It is getting pretty hot in South, Ga and the snakes have been crawling for sometime now. Even water hunting will have to be done in the early morning because of the sunburn I get from the waters reflections. I have a under armor hoodie, but it's too hot to wear right now. I hope to find a light weight balaclava or I just call them a full hoodie to keep the sun from frying my face. Suncreen doesn't agree with me. HH.

Yeah, we are creeping into the hot range here as well and right now we are in desperate need of a good soaking rain. Good luck! HH jim tn

I live in California, and digging clad pinnies is pretty normal for us. Wheaties are rare. I'm sure your silver is on it's way Jim

To coin collectors, wheaties are always a prize. Finding the "S" mint mark is even better. I have to settle with finding them at local flea markets, although I did find a Buffalo Nickel. I knew I'd find a U.S.coin sooner or later, since TRUST used to be stationed here after the second world war. Their baseball field and training camp are in private property and so far I haven't managed to get permission to hunt those areas.
