Does anyone know the approximate date that Tesoro went from the shiny gold anodized rods to the painted gold rod setup?

My Eldorado, purchased in Nov 2002 has a shiny rod...my DeLeon, purchased Dec 2003, has the duller painted rod. Hope this helps
