Armed with a metal detector, yes you can become a time traveler,just for instance say you happen to dig up a 300 year old button with a bullet hole through it.You are the first one to touch the item since the day the bullet went through the button and the button into the ground.If you try hard enough you can have one heck of a time travel experience from this scenerio.What do you think?.
 
Spot on, Chuck! Finding old coins and relics can take you right back, and the experience is limited only by your own imagination. Even if you aren't the type to sit and wonder about things, you can find out facts about what you locate with your detector by going to local libraries and historical societies. I'm sure we all have "things" at home which we have found, but aren't quite sure what they are. It's what helps to make our hobby one of the most interesting and fascinating pasttimes you can pursue.
