Time to buy... Outlaw or Vaq...

Well.... Almost time for another machine, narrowed it to these two, the outlaw or the vaquero. Time or some feedback on these machines and a little more figuring and make the purchase.

the vaq is going to be deeper if you hunt old house lots get the Vaq if its parks get the outlaw.

Thanks for the info, that's what I need to hear before making my purchase. I'll be in the woods more that a park, I also have a Deleon to use, looking for it a brother.

I hunt with the outlaw in the woods around old home sites and if there are lots of iron nails and such the outlaw shines over the vaquero. These are my conditions and soil but it is what works for me. The vaquero is a great all around machine though maybe just a tad deeper but for me it rarely matters as much as good separation. I own and use both but if I had only one it would be the outlaw. I like the stock 8" round coil also and that's what comes on the outlaw. I bought an 8" coil round for the vaq also.

I you already have umax coils, I'd seriously consider the Outlaw. Or, if you would like, but don't have the coils, go for the 3 coil package on the Outlaw. Coils for it are also compatibe with your Deleon.
Vaq is a very good detector, but puts you into a different series of coils.

We have a Cibloa a Vaq and an Outlaw, and the one I use the most is the Outlaw. Once you learn the soft tones of the Outlaw theres no going back to that "quack, quack" of the Vaq.
Yes the Vaq is deeper and a very good machine but , I love the super pin-pointing and the sweet sound of the Outlaw. Recently I picked up a Minelab xterra 705 just to see what the other side of life is all about , and its not what its all cracked to be. The Outlaw will hold its own and wont rip your shoulder apart after a few hours of swinging. The Outlaw is also a bit faster when it comes to target separation too. Tesoro makes some great decetors that for sure, I just hope they KEEP making them!

I love my vaquero, and think there is no other for me and my way of hunting. Once you get machines that close to performance it really don't make that much difference. Coil preference and compatibility is what you need to stay in the area of. IMO

Vaquero + 5 x 10 DD Coil + Killer B Headphones = one of my favorite Tesoro detector combos for hunting in the woods.

I had an outlaw when they first cam out 3 coil. Everyone was knocking it saying why just make another etc etc etc. It is out a few years and now it compares with the Vaq. Strange how things change.

 none taken everything happens for a reason I will learn more in time of why I wasn't meant to have an outlaw today, maybe theres a new 5 pin machine coming soon :wiggle:

That's one mighty big coil! The Outlaw I bought in December and have used less than 2 hours, total, if that, was with the 8" coil and a 7" Concentric coil.

If you get a lot of want-to-buy contacts about your Outlaw kit, send them my way as I am also selling my Outlaw package.

Tesoro Outlaw w/8" Concentric and 10X12 DD coils. Owner's Manual, new thick Cordura Tesoro bag, and box. I got it in December and used it less than 2 hours. Looks 'as new.'

$400 for the Outlaw w/8", 10x12 DD and unused Tesoro bag. ... or ... $450 for the whole outfit described and I will include a decent condition 7" Concentric coil ... or ... $525 for everything plus a new-in-the-box set of White's Pro Star headphones.

I can't tell you how many times I didn't coordinate the shift key and got a ' for ", or even a " for and '. It happens. I mainly got the Outlaw package so I would have the 6" Concentric coil (the 5.75" measures about exactly 6" across) for my Bandido II µMAX. I have another 6" Concentric for a Silver Sabre µMAX when I find a clean specimen, but I am offering to sell the very decent 7" Concentric coil I have with the Outlaw or alone.
