Time Ranger and Land Ranger owners

You guys who have Time Rangers and Land Rangers may already know this, but I found that when I don't discriminate in the discrimination disk/target system, just accept all metals, because of the ground monitor, I can better see when I detect iron objects rather than when I reject all iron.
When I rejected all iron, I have many times still wondered if I found iron or not (nails) when I got a hit that sometimes registered as maybe a nickel. I have dug up plenty of nails even when I set my TR to reject iron because I wasn't sure. But if I accept all metals, I notice that iron (Ir1 - 4) shows up on my display in the iron category sometime when I get a hit for a nickel then no hit then a hit etc. Sweeping from different angles helps to identify the object much better.
For me anyway. This helps allot! I played with this in my back yard yesterday just for the heck of it, and found I could better bypass the unwanted nails and iron crap better than if I had discriminated out the iron.

Just thought I share. That ground monitor is a nicer feature that I thought. I think from now on, I will just use the disk/target system or self-tuning all metals mode for all my quests. :detecting:

That's interesting Drummerman. I will have to give that a try next time out. Thanks!
