Time for my annual tribute to Alice :): And happy mothers day too to all..

It was 40 years ago today, that the young couple walked, with trembling feet and uncertain hearts, down the aisle towards a future together. They were not sure of their future together, [he had not job, nor any prospects at the time; she only did part time work gardening]. However, with love, and persistence, they defied both sets of parents and took the giant step and got married.

Times were not easy for the couple. Family, children, careers

Mikie,

What you said is beautiful, and I suspect Alice feels as lucky as you do. You're someone I'd like to know.

About your father: it's now been 62 1/2 years since my father died and 12 1/2 years since I put this tribute on my web site. It hold true now as much as then, and I don't expect it to ever lessen. Indeed, I don't want it to lessen. http://www.jimlyons.com/memorial.html

My marriage was like the Ali and Foreman fights, long lasting. My hats off to those who endure it. 40 YEARS, WAY TO GO.
