time for cleaner pastures

i live in sc and have been playing with my new vaquero for a couple of months. during that time i've had the opportunity to explore several civil war sites that are a little "remote". several weeks back i was able to introduce myself to a local fellow who's been hunting these grounds for years. we hit it off--and he said he'd love to get together and do some hunting (we can travel as we are retired). he takes the summer off--and i now know why--rattlers, ticks and it's hot!. last time out-- 2 rattlers and 2 ticks.

luckily, i've found a few nice relics, but i have decided for the better part of valor to hunt sites that are a bit more manicured as well play at the beach with my pulse unit. cw stuff is on the back burner till the fall.:nopity:

Hey Kimbershot,

I'm an SC boy too. In the Columbia area. Going to be at the MB next month. We'll have to get together. Been beach hunting a few years. Lots of fun seeing gold in the scoop. Done very little relic hunting but would like to do more. Maybe we can help each other out.
