time for cleaner pastures

i live in sc and have been playing with my new vaquero for a couple of months. during that time i've had the opportunity to explore several civil war sites that are a little "remote". several weeks back i was able to introduce myself to a local fellow who's been hunting these grounds for years. we hit it off--and he said he'd love to get together and do some hunting (we can travel as we are retired). he takes the summer off--and i now know why--rattlers, ticks and it's hot!. last time out-- 2 rattlers and 2 ticks.

luckily, i've found a few nice relics, but i have decided for the better part of valor to hunt sites that are a bit more manicured as well play at the beach with my pulse unit. cw stuff is on the back burner till the fall.

Hey Kimbershot,

I'm an SC boy too. In the Columbia area. Going to be at the MB next month. We'll have to get together. Been beach hunting a few years. Lots of fun seeing gold in the scoop. Done very little relic hunting but would like to do more. Maybe we can help each other out.
