Tightening Coil Connection on ATX

How tight does one have to tighten the coil connection after changing coils? I actually had to use some needle nose pliers to loosen the cap on the standard coil. When I attached the mono coil, I hand tightened it. But it loosens relatively easily when I check it. Is this ok? I tried to make it a little tighter using the needle nose pliers, but it just kept turning. Feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks,

And by the connection I mean the the actual chord connection to the housing of the ATX.

It only has to be finger tight firm . Just make sure the plug is pushed all the way in when tightening . And also remember to grease up the o ring if it's looking dry with o ring grease ...

Thanks Stalker1! I just picked up the 8" mono coil and am planning a trip prospecting in September. Can't wait! The grease that Garrett recommends is "silicone grease" correct?

Only hand tight. Don't use pliers. Yes, silicone grease. Any hardware store should have it in the plumbing section. Look for 100% or close to it though. Some are blended. And as mentioned, push it all the way in first before tightening.
