Tigershark back to the lake

Went back to the lake today. I only got to hunt 3 hours because they closed the beaches BECAUSE THE WATER WAS TOO LOW !!!!! It was great, I was all the way out to the ropes, and the water was up to my waist!! It is usually 12' deep at the ropes. Found a slew of pulltabs, canfetti etc, but hit on some clad and a matching pair of earings no markings but they just have to be gold, and a 925 ring. I can't get over it BECAUSE THE WATER WAS TOO LOW!!!!

Not everybody thinks like we Treasure hunting Pirates do. Good thing to Mate or there would be a shortage of metal detectors.:crylol:

Cheers,

BDA:cool:

and check the pins/hasps on those earrings VERY closely. I've found an earring that looks almost exactly like the pair you have, and it's marked 10K ISREAL.

yea that really chapped me. Seems that folks were going past the buoys and ropes into the lake in search of water deeper than their waist, so the rangers closed all 3 beaches on the lake.:ranting: I couldnt believe I found 2 MATCHING earings! they were clipped together like in the pic.

Take it back to the ranger station with a few more real knarley items, that if someone stepped on they would get hurt BAD. Tell them that you want to help remove items like you have in your nut, to help swimmers from getting hurt and since the lake is low you can easily get to items. If you could some how convince them that you were there to do the park a service as opposed to selfish ambition (pirating), then perhaps you could be blessed with safe passage to the hole. IT DEFINITELY MERITS MORE OF YOUR ATTENTION! Good luck and let us know if you git a green light to go back. GH

I think I'd take Gulf Huntresses advice and see if you can convince them that the water being so low would allow you to get out deeper and pull up all the trash you can. Don't BS them of course - they know you want to do it to find good stuff as well, but promise you'll pull out any glass, bottles, iron, nails etc... that you find out there too.

They may have to just stick with the rules and not allow anyone out there, but it's certainly worth a try and you might just get a chance to hunt the whole swimming area without anyone else around!

Could be a once in a long while opportunity!!

I save EVERYTHING!! I am holding out for when pull tabs are a buck a piece on the open market so I can buy a Winebago and head to the FL beaches!! I tried they gave me the standard " if we let you in...." I think by the next time I am able to get there ( Saturday ) they will pretty much have it stabilized. Did I mention I could FEEL the loot!!! :ranting:
