Tiger shark today. Great machine

Hurried over to the park for an hour to try it out. I have been beating up the area with the minelabs quattro so for a test went over the same area with TS. . The sounds were familiar and I new the dig sound. Twice I found coin and wire junk in the same hole and otherwise dug no wire. Found 3 nickels and 4 clad dimes as well as 4 copper and 5 zincolns. Running the discriminator at 5.5 eliminated the foil and found nickels. I am sure I will find more with the Tesoro than the quattro, because I waste entirely to much time deciding to dig switching modes looking at numbers. Deepest coin only 4 inches but was loud and clear. I had mounted the control box under the elbow and like the balance that way. The eight inch coil seemed to cover ground as fast as the quattro's 10.5 inch did because of the faster sweep. I especially like the manual ground balance. My Inca had it and the Deleon did not. Now I gotta find virgin dirt and try the lake.:clapping:

Great story , I would love to hear more. I just used mine for the first time last weekend. I have found a few things I found a few shotgun shells and lead shot. The funny thing is I totally forgot to ground balance.

I also got some lightweight chest waders too, I can't wait to get deeper in the lakes.

Keep trying to ground balance u will get it down. When the tone is clear and sharp you dig. If it chirps, buzzes or something else I don't. The fact that junk and coin are side by side is a real eye opener. The minlab would cancel out. The deleon would have me digging hot rocks. I will still use the Quattro because of 5 10 and 16 inch coils, just not so much.

One more thing the earphones reproduce the sounds better than the ones I have been using with the Deleon. After I heard a pretty good signal with just a little fuzziness associated with it and dug up a rusty washer. Later I heard the same sound that I now call the fuzz on a peach sound again and dug up another rusty washer. I will continue to dig this sound because it is an iffy signal and I am still learning. Great audio.

Has anyone used the 7" coil on the TS and how well does it work, thanks

My third day on tiger shark and still finding clad I missed with the quattro. I am up to 42 coins found in 4.5 hours of detecting. I have found about 80 pultabs during that time so the garret pinpointer is getting a workout. I have a feeling that something good is going to pop from this rural park as it is in a community established in 1895 and Near an old church I am not surprised when I dig up a pultab as the sound is slightly chopped. The deepest coin was a dime at 5 inches with a nickel at 4. Most other coins have been within 2 inches of surface. I started using the detector on the left hand with the strap over the forearm and the control under the elbow balancing the coil. It is easy to sweep and helps to share the load that I have been giving my dominate right hand. I like this machine.

Today I started out in the local park with the Deleon in an area relatively free of trash. I started hitting deep loud targets that turned out to be 12 gauge paper cartridges. Knowing that these were old I continued digging them hoping for a deep coin. No luck, but a dozen shotgun shells, the deepest at 9 inches before I decided not to dig up the entire box. I then went over to the area of the stage and noticed that Bill, grounds keeper had pushed all the bleachers back with the tractor giving me access. I soon saw Bill and thanked him for the three quarters I just picked up. He joked about salting the park with silver, but then unlocked the beer garden area and let me have a go at that. Fearing trash, I wisely took the tiger shark and again found a nail and a coin in the same hole. I spied a wooden beer token on the ground and picked up some clad and plenty of pennys from an a beer tab infested area and with the help of a new friend I found just over 2 bucks in a couple hours, even after wasting all that time digging shotgun shells.

Congrats, the tiger shark is a great all around to use , tigerhank68

I really like this detector and I am continueing to improve digging speed with a screwdriver for all but the deepest hits. I am able to average a dollar an hour in clad while digging areas previously detected with the quattro when averaging 60 cents an hour. This is like being a kid again, after all I worked for $1 an hr in 1960, back when .25 filled the gas can. Dang, now I feel old again.

First time on salt beach, Cannon Beach Oregon, no hits in ocean. Both the dry Sand and fresh water stream produced clad. Switched to minelabs but only found fresh clad around logs that people use like park benches. Oldest coin was a corroded 1959 nickel and only jewelry was a Pinky finger silver plate ring. Oh well, Weather was great, sunny and warm, but now I back home in the rain waiting for it to clear!
