tiger shark question

Ok going to order a tiger shark but which one? The 8" or 10" coil? Is there a lot more depth with the 10" and do you lose the small chain signals?

The 8" coil is the best all around for water hunting and performance.
The 10" coil will get you deeper but, not by much. Has more water drag due to weight and size.
No different than the Bandido Umax. Circuit design was based on the Bandido.
Most people I think who have had the older TS with the changeable coil came to the conclusion the 8" coil was preferred.

You may need to adjust the headphone volume, trimmer pot inside. You can also adjust an inside Sensitivity trim pot to gain a bit of depth.
Manual tells how to do both.

I prefer the 8" where I hunt. The 8" gets between rocks better and pinpoints closer to the rocks if that's where the target landed.

Have not used the 10 inch on the Tiger Shark; but after using the 8 inch in and around iron in fresh and brackish water, I don't think I would want to use a bigger coil. Smaller coil helps unmask targets when in discriminate mode. In and around iron trash, I don't want to run all-metal with the Tiger Shark. If you know most of the areas you will be hunting are fairly clean, you may opt for the bigger coil, but for me, I'll be sticking with the 8 inch.

Thanks for the answers. I was just trying to figure out if the 10" would be a lot deeper and worth the extra drag when diving. Sounds like the 8" is the way to go.

I have the 10" and I like it. Probably a little deeper, not much though. The big thing for me is it covers more area. I don't buy into the more drag thing at all. If your coil is parallel to the bottom there is no drag, the coil just slices through the water.
