tiger shark back order ??

Hi,
I have one but now my daughter wants one too. So I got on a list at Badger Detectors in Madison, Wisconsin. The owner wrote the initial test article on that detector and probably knows it better than anyone else in the country. He uses it all the time. I am in Washington State but after talking to him I will gladly purchase from him, the information he shared about the detector and its usage/idiosyncrasies is worth as much as the detector and he took the time to answer all my questions plus more. I think his forum name is Scully. I will patiently wait. I am so backed up with work I cannot get out in the near future any ways. If it takes them time to get it right more power to them! You won't have to send it back continually like the Excals and other water units!

Best Regards,
Steve

Hi Neil,

I have not owned any of the other water machines but reading the forums and PMs to various folks has led me to believe that there are many problems associated with water machines, Excals, Infinium, and Beach Hunters, although lately I have not read much going wrong with the Beach Hunters. I have not found any issues yet with the Tiger Shark. The only way I would own an Excal is if I could afford to buy 2 with 2 extra batteries. I only hunt fresh water.

Best Regards,
Steve

Thanks Steve. I wanted to see if you were talking from experience or from something youve read and you answered that. Good luck with your Tiger when you get it! Its a great machine!

Hi ToniSteve

I have had the Tiger Shark for 9 yrs., it has never been back to Tesoro for service. I have hundreds of hours on mine, and it is stone reliable. I use a 24 inch zip tie to go around and through the pole mount on the control housing and around the face plate clamps. I do this because I almost flooded the detector by catching a clamp on a pocket on my shorts, and the clamp poped loose.....lucky me that I was not in deep water at the time. Good luck with yours.

Hi Hombre,
Thanks for the great tip!

Best Regards,
Steve

Hi Skully,
Thank you for taking the time and making the effort!
You are one of the few dealers that took the time to educate me and I have talked to many in the last 6 months. You make it easy to understand and assimilate! So let me know as soon as the Tiger Shark gets in. I found you going down Tesoro's dealer list alphabetically state by state. I bet I talked to or emailed over 50 Tesoro dealers and only less then a handful even knew the Tiger Shark was temporarily out of production.

So kudos to you and Badger Detectors and you are welcome.

Best Regards,
Steve

I am also wanting to join the Tesoro family with a Tiger Shark and have one back ordered. I am in no real hurry to get it as long as it makes it by Spring time its well worth the wait for them to get it right (since I keep stealing my wife's HH Pirate) :)
