Tiger Shark 10

Pulltaber,

....I thought the coil connector was the part they did not have as their supply dried up, so naturally they would rob the whole coil cable off of your 8" coil to make your 10

They can not "open" the connector up and reuse it. The cable has to be taken from the coil itself.
Take good care of the cable that goes into that connector. If it ever fails at this point you will have to have it hard wired into your control box. I was lucky a couple of years back and found a 10 1/2" coil with the old connector. From what I heard from someone in the company is that they no longer are looking for a watertight connector and will continue to hardware the coils.

I have the old tiger shark with interchangeable coils. I started with the 8" then bought the 10" coil.
I was disappointed to find the depth of detection was less than one inch more with the 10" than with the 8".
The swing weight is much more with the 10" and in the water it is like a paddle; hard to move. I since bought a 4" coil I found on an auction site.
The 4" coil has only about an inch less detection than the 8" coil. The swing weight is a delight and in the water there is very little resistance.
If I was buying one new I would get the 8" coil for the above reasons. The 4" is my favorite coil.
