Tiger/Sand Shark

So did Tesoro abandon the water machines? Did they ever get the leak issue solved? It has been years so I would hope so... been out of the water-loop... Are they in stock at local dealers or out of production?

I didn't know they had a leak problem  my Tiger Shark has been bone dry.

No the Tiger Sharks are not known to have leak problems. Tesoro is just retrofitting to come up with new part for the Sand and Tiger Sharks.

Best Regards,
Steve

Yep, I'll send you a PM.

I'm in the market for a PI water machine and *really* wanted the Sand Shark.
Called them and inquired about the 'temporarily' part of their out of production notice.
Upon asking, the lady said "maybe sometime next year" as far as when they'll return to production.

Really, sealing a box or waterproofing some connections isn't exactly rocket science. There's people out there with their wallets open ready to spend money on your product- they should probably get this sorted out ASAP. I can understand there might be some 'issues' with offering a lifetime warrantied product that's meant to go underwater, but account for your loss in the cost basis and charge more, if need be. I really want a Tesoro, but will probably find myself having to buy another machine, since I don't want to wait an indeterminate amount of time for something that may or may not happen.

I remember them saying this past spring that they were just about ready to start production again. "Any day now" was their words. Something must have happened.

L, their problem is a little more complicated. My understanding is that the company who was manufacturing the seal went out of business and Tesoro was trying to find a new manufacturer. Those seals are pressed to form based on the dimensions of the Sand/Tiger Shark and i'm sure new molds would have to be created.

What's surprising me is that its taking so long to find one.

There is another possibility and I'll freely admits pure speculation: maybe Tesoro is completely redoing both units. They were notoriously heavy and not in keeping with Tesoro's reputation of lightweight detectors. I don't know, but maybe that's a possibility.

I got tired of waiting and broke down and got a used one. You can thank me if they come out with a new model... That would be just my luck!

Tesoro has sqeezed another year out of this with the "any day now" lie
This is going on 3 years now. I have heard, there are guys that sent there
machine in for this part repair, and Tesoro is just holding the machine and
doing nothing to fix them. A lifetime warrenty is worth nothing if they say
"waiting on a new part" for 3 years. I think they are on the razors edge
of going broke.
