Tiger Lily and Day Lily

Nancy-IL

Well-known member
The lilies are starting to bloom. The first is a Tiger Lily and the second a Day Lily. The wind was blowing so hard, I had to try to hold the Day Lily still. I've got a total of 8 Tiger Lilies and excited to see them bloom. I will be a happy camper if I can grow them half as pretty as the ones Harold showed me.

Did you grow these from seeds or potted plants? Do they bloom all summer? Debbie and I will probably have a smaller bucket garden next year and plant more flowers. I am presently growing six Rose of Sharon plants from seeds, as well as the Roses for this year. Thanks for sharing the pictures of these beautiful flowers. :clapping: Kelley (Texas) :)

Thank you for your comments guys.

Kelley, most of the Tiger Lilies came from the store which were already potted last year. Then there's a few I picked up here and there from little starts. The Day Lily came from some thinning of huge patches. I think they only bloom in the late Spring/ to early Summer.

I didn't feel like getting the big camera out so I used the bridge camera on automatic.

I sure hope I don't bore you with my flower pictures. We planted a Campsis Madame Rosy (Trumpet plant) yesterday in the front yard. I'm anxious for that to take hold and start blooming. They attract Hummingbirds.

Thank you Harold. You do know that I'm blaming all my Tiger Lilies on you! And I've very grateful too! :bouncy:

Very nice flowers Nancy. Perenials are always nce because they continue to come back year after year without the need for human help in some cases.

Thanks Roscue. You're right about the care of the perennials.
