tiger and sandshark news!!!!!!!!

"Tesoro is proud to announce that the Tiger Shark and Sand Shark will be available in mid-April. The detectors will have hardwired coils, with either an 8 inch or 10.5 inch option.
Please contact your local dealer to reserve yours.
We will continue to investigate possible connector solutions for future production".

from there website!

Why didn't Tesoro do this a year or more ago?----Must have cost them a lot of sales on these popular water machines by not doing it.----Other major manufacturers have hard wired coils on their water machines also.----Inter-changable coils on a water machine is a neat feature (IF there wasn't an ongoing connector problem).

good news !!!!

IMHO, Not sure why Tesero was trying to go for such a deep dive rating when the majority of their customer are not scuba divers and would never see much over a 10 foot depth. There are loads of IP68 rated circular connectors available and for a very reasonable price.

Quit whining and buy one!

My local dealer here in the southeast said one of the Giffords sold out to the other, old news. But she received notice that the 20% off the list price she offers, passing it on from the company, is over with in March. This dealer has always been good person to deal with, and only handles them as a sideline because she and hubby are avid hunters, and run another business. thats a lot of money! 20 bucks on the hundred? say it aint so!

CDDZ,

Maybe there's more of an issue is with people that don't tighten the connecter properly & saltwater/water leaks in to the box or coil. Then send the unit to be repaired, free.

A hard wired MDer & coil makes since . . . . . Takes out the stupid factor. Saves Tesoro many headakes & make the unit more durable.

I was refering to the past production of these models. But I see your point, as a manufacture myself I know all too well. YOU CAN'T FIX STUPID. If you make it IDIOT proof, they just make better idiots :)

So all that crap and time over trying to build a new waterproof connector, and they hardwire them as a last resort.....
