Ticks are bad in Jersey, Been using this spray for your clothes called Saywer Tick Repellant, works fantastic, haven't had a tick on me for the last 6 times in the woods, and I was coming out with them crawling all over my clothes, 1 treatment will last for about 6 machine washings. Its supposed to kill them when they are crawl on your clothes.

Amazon has it... I bought some Sawyer 24oz last year less than $15.00..permethrin is the active ingredient other brands have it also.. just search the net... also... don't use it if you have cats and a cat lover... lethal to them... dogs not afected.. same ingredient in some of the flea and tick spot treatment...

Not a cat lover, but I do have a 12 year old Boxer that's my buddy. You don't reckon that in a year or so from now we'll find out that Permethrin causes hemroids do ya? (just funnin')
Thanks for the info
Oh, by the way, I still have a 1266x too

Many years ago when I lived in the country I sprayed ant killer outside the garage for carpenter ants. At the same time we adopted a kitten, it became ill, brought it to the Vet, he said it has liver damage. He put it to sleep and we got another kitten. Same thing happened to it. The Vet asked if I was spraying anything around the house. Our older cat wasn't affected it seems. I don't remember what brand spray it was but we have to be careful using the stuff.

I will have to see if its available on the west coast. I dont know which is worse, ticks or poison oak:(

Walmart carries Repel Clothing and Gear and Dick's Sporting Goods carries Sawyers Insect Repellent For Clothing. Both are for ticks, chiggers, and other insects, and the active ingredient in each is permethrin. Not harmful to most mammals or birds, but very toxic to cats. If you spray it on your clothing, then let it dry, you won't find a live tick on you no matter how many you get into. Wouldn't go in the woods in the summer without it.

It's available at AMAZON.dot com about 16.00 a 24 oz spray bottle does a about 4 sets of clothes, hat shirt pants and socks ( keep pant stuffed in socks.Last for about 6 machine washes, I prefer not to wash them for a month or so.
