THURSDAY, MY BEST WHEAT DAY EVER

Da Yooper

New member
Great day, went to the mother-in-laws to get my boat out f the barn and of coarse I brought my GTI2500. Started in the front yard in a 10' X 10' area and never left that spot.(using Uncle Willy's technique) This is what I found--8 wheats 1917d, 1919s, 1912s, 1945, 1921, 1916, 1938, 1914 and a 1897 IH, a bank token and some clad. Sorry the coins are hard to see. I need to find a way to clean the coins better without damaging the coin.

1912 S is a better date and mint mark wheat cent. Great wheat day. I find lots of them but all seem to be 1940 and after.

I've got jars of wheaties from 1909 on up. Going to have to drag them out someday and see what's in there. Wheats are hard to come by out here anymore. I haven't pulled one up in a long time. Did get a 1921 Canadian cent awhile back.

Put some peroxide on the micro-wave to get it hot and dump your coins in that. Keep repeating till the coins don't bubble any more. I like that method. It cleans them without taking the natural color away.

1912 S is a real good year only 4.4 million minted that year. I still need that one for my collection. Hope to dig one up....lol

Very nice indeed. I keep my detector with me at all times. You never know when a great opportunity will arise. Great Job..
