Thursday and Friday night hunts. Double silver hunts!

:super:Hey all, managed to get out last night after work. Man it sure is getting cold at night lately. I forgot my coat at work so I braved the cool windy night at the park / baseball field. Decided to hunt near the other parking lot and there were plenty of signals to be dug. First good keeper was the 1944P war nickel sweet. I then came across another nickel signal. Dug down about 5 inches and seen a pulltab. Took the tab out and by force of habit, stuck the pro pointer back in the hole to double check and sure enough, she screamed at the bottom of the hole. Dug out a clod of dirt and seen another war nickel! This one was the 1942P. That's a first for me in my 10 years of hunting. I never dug (2) war nickels in the same hunt or same day for that matter! Awesome! Managed the wheatie at the end of the hunt on my way to the car. I also like the Chevy emblem pin, never seen one before and it looks pretty old. Any ideas? Oh and I found 1 clad dime, 6 nickels and 15 pennies for a total of $0.55 clad.

Tonight I ended up getting back at the park / baseball field around 7. I was afraid that I would only have about 30 minutes to hunt due to the sun was just about past the horizon. Started off where I parked the car and dug a lot of pulltabs and can slaw. I said to myself "come on Eric, you dont got much time, start cherry picking..." and well thats what I did! Dont get me wrong, I still dug pulltab signals but I was chasing after nickels / gold rings. No gold rings, but did come accross a nice textbook silver signal at 6" The id # was staying around 80 - 81. Dug down 6" and the pro pointer said its still in the hole. Scooped away some dirt and whats this? I see shiney! Sweet, a 1951 Canadian silver dime! I never found a Canadian silver dime in my 10 years of hunting, finally I got one! I was so psyched to see George's face on the front too :) Well at this point I was ready to leave, but I kept asking to the Gods for another silver. Well I came across a #65 signal, kinda stayed around that area but sounded pretty good. Dug down 5" and pulled out a modern pulltab. Well again out of force of habit, I stuck the pro-pointer back in the hole and got a faint beep at the bottom of the hole. Scooped out another 2" of dirt and heard silver hit a rock when I scooped the dirt onto my pile I made. I heard it a few times but couldn't see it, so I took out the pro pointer, sifted the dirt and I see the 1946 Roosie staring at me. Awesome! Seen the cop's pull into the park so I had to make a quick walk to the car since they always harass me for being in the park after dark LOL, but on the way there I was swinging like a madman, came across a very distinct freshly dropped penny signal. Found it on the ground with the pro pointer and it turned out to be the wheatie LOL! I also managed $0.55 in clad again hahaha, 1 quarter, 1 dime, 3 nickels and 5 pennies. The hunt lasted an hour and 20 minutes. So much for the 30 minute hunt that I thought I was going to have :)

Double silver on 2 hunts in a row from a park / ballfield that I've pounded forever. Absolutely amazing! This AT Pro is one killer machine. I'm starting to get silver almost every hunt and I can't say that I've ever had many double silver days, heck sometimes 3 silver days at this park with my other detector. I am a believer that this machine was the right choice for me. It wasn't only an upgrade, but it also kept the hobby alive for me. HH all! :super:

You're racking up a great silver count, Eric! Congratulations!

Heck ya, the silver has been flowing into my goodies box lately. I can't believe in less than 4 weeks that I've pulled 13 silver items from this one park. I never would have imagined that there was "that much" still left there. I find that a lot of the silvers are being masked by can slaw, pulltabs, iron, etc... Its pretty common now where I remove a piece of trash, sometimes there is a silver hiding in with it. Love this machine!
