:thumbup:Picked Up A Good One

Coilfisher

New member
Just picked up a practically unused CZ-70Pro for my arsenal.
Had the owners card, carrying case, hip mount, and manual included.
Now I got a good rain unit!

Sweet, looking foreward for the good find stories.

Hi, lucky you!, what/how many machines you got now in your collection?

Probably one too many.
Two of them are CZ's.
Was going to sell the CZ-3D to pay for the CZ -70. Think I will keep it and throw a 5" coil on it. Use it for tight and trash places.
In the long run, I would probably miss it.
I am done buying any more, but I like to switch off.
I figure people buy guns like that, so why not have some detectors.
Only thing I will do is if Fisher comes out with something highly new and improved I will
sell one off to get the new one. Other than that I am done.

And you?

Me!, oh just the one, my CZ7a, only been at this hobby about a few weeks now, it does make my arm ache though after 5 or 6 hours on the beach!, was hoping I will get used to the weight but not so sure now!, I will say I am impressed with my CZ7a on my local beach it works a treat on the wet sand, far better than expected and is easy to use once you get used to it.

Good luck.

No doubt I will buy another detector soon as a back up, I dread the thought of my machine not working one day!

Well, overall they are not that heavy (at least with the 8" coil).

But, if they came out with a durable lighter weight coil to replace the epoxy spider coil, that may not be a bad thing either.

Hey CF if they don't remake a CZ with their next great offering, then it will have to be a really new kind of rig for me to go for it. Hopefully it's not something as simple as offering a heavy rig as a wader/land unit. Already got that, the CZ20. But I favor my CZ5 for the deep dirt. Can't beat 'em for "old school" killer rigs.

Well..I dont want a hyrbid like an AT PRO or CTX 3030 if that is what Fisher is coming out with.
And, I don't want a single frequency machine either.
I agree it would have to be a completely digitized CZ witha double d coil for me to take a swing.

Actually you are correct!, they don't feel that heavy to hold, when I first got my CZ7a I was surprised at how light it felt, but I will say when I go detecting I have been going for like 5, 6, or 7 hours straight without stopping for a break, just totally focussed on detecting and digging holes, so I guess its no wonder my weedy arm would ache a bit, hehehehehe!, and with my lack of work up til recently my only exercise for my arms being typing on my keyboard, lol, so maybe I'm just a bit out of shape!!!.

Still regardless of the weight I wouldn't part with this detector, its such a good machine considering what I paid for it.

You guys have been talking about coils and weight, which prompts me to ask a question. Would it be that hard for Kellyco to make their sef coils for the cz? They make them for the White's dfx which is also 5 and 15 khz, so would it be that hard to start with that configuration and change the cable and end to fit the cz? Those coils would give cz users what they have been asking for: larger coils with lighter weight, and a dd design.

I believe the creators and collaborators of the CZ platform said a DD design was not possible on that unit do to their circuitry.
