we will need them with the streets made of gold. We will be able to see it and not have to detect it. 
I'm just a little concerned on how the BIG guy is gonna feel when He sees me digging up the streets!

I think that God put the gold, silver, jewels etc. in the dirt and not on trees so we would take the hint that we should not be looking to them but to him. The new Jerusalem is desribed in the Bible as having steets of gold and jewel stones for the foundation. We will be trodding the gold under foot and the foundation is set in dirt here on earth but I doubt we will find dirt there. After reading the treasure tales here on earth, I believe that God gave us plenty of gold, sdilver and jewel stones for everyone but we just heven't found it all.
