:thumbup:AT Pro headphone jack problem solved

I went to Radio shack and got a headphone extension cord for $6.00 and cut off the female end with enough cable to reach the back end of arm cuff.Cut off a bit of the stock phone cord with plug and soldered and hear shrunk the splice.Added several industrial strength zip ties and am good to go.It sounds like a different and much better machine with my Pro Gold phones and the plug is where it should have been in the first place.
I can still use stock water proof phones as well,Ray.

Nice set up. I like it. One question however !
Is that connection under the arm rest water proof like the one that Garrett uses ?
Detector arm cuff ( connector ) immeresed in chest deep water will it stand up being under water ?

I have a rubber plug for it and will use the stock water proof phones for deeper water. If I decide to get in the water a lot I will remove adapter and use the stock water proof phones.Fresh water only where I am located by the way.

That's using the ole noggin Ray.......

Great idea... I have a pair of Korg headphones that I bought for my other detector. They have a 1" plug like yours. When I get my AT pro I would like to use the Korg headphones. Where did you get the other end? The plug that actually connects to the detector?

I think if I'm reading this right, the connector in the second picture is the cut-off end of the stock headphones. My question would be can you buy just that connector alone somewhere so you would not have to cut apart the stock phones. Or better yet (?) does anyone make and offer this connector as an item for sale so that those of us (my hand is up) who are not talented with tools could just buy it instead of making it?

Nice work Ray!

I just did not want to wait so cut it off stock land phones. It is amazing how much better targets sound with better quality phones,Ray.

I messed-up. My headphones are Koss no Korg. They are fantastic. I suppose Garrett doesn't manufacture their own headphones. I was thinking maybe I could send them to Garrett and have them replace the plug so it fits the At pro. Suggestions?
