Thumb Knob for Discriminator

Hello all,

Thought you might like to see my latest tinkering. The knob makes thumbing the descriminator a breeze. I've only made this prototype but if anybody is interested I could set up to run a batch of them. They really should be anodized also. I set the pointer straight up so that it will still hit a nickel much like on the orginal knob. I think I saw someone make one of these out a gear a few years ago but I could be mistaken.

I would give that a "spin" put me down for three. You can PM for info thanks!

I put a huge Disc knob on the Vaquero I had. Made thumbing a lot easier.

He has the mod on the discriminate, there is no space below it,alot of us or at least I turn discriminate as low as possible for greater depth and thumb the discriminate to check the target, great idea!!

So the silver looking thing with the waffles is actually a larger knob on the disc. shaft. Thats cool! From the photo, it looks like it's on a *jack shaft* and is being used to turn the knob above. I've seen this done on radios. If the photo had been taken from a slightly different angle, I wouldn't have been spoofed. Again a great idea.

Yes it is on the discriminator shaft. I did a little re-design and will be posting about it probably tomorrow. I ran a batch of them and will have them for sale in the accessory forum. I'm won't be making much on them but I would like to get them out there to the Tesoro boys and have them do a field review. The knob will take about five minutes to get used to and then my guess is you'll never want to go back. They are made from billet, machined aluminum and clear coated for protection. I couldn't justify the cost of having them anodized.
