Here's a good lesson I learned some time back. I was putting together a display of insigna & such from a particular fort and only needed the letter K to complete it. A friend dug one there one day but sure didn't want to part with it.

Well about 2 years later I dug a crumbled & bent up piece of "stuff" but put it in my pocket till I got home. In the past I might have tossed it away but fortunately I didnt. Here's the K that straightened out great. Now I keep all stuff till I get home to inspect carefully.
A friend & I are leaving on a 3 day dig along the old RR lines tomorrow. Finally cooling off in the desert. Steve in so az
