i was at a thrift store today and bought this gold ring that say on the inside china 925. can anyone tell me anything about it ? only paid 90 cents for it and the only reason i bought it was because it says 925

Maybe it's from here:

Sterling silver is 92.5% pure silver. Jewelry made from sterling silver would be marked as .925, 925, or sometimes just STER. Usually good sterling jewelry will be rhodium plated to avoid discoloration. But I have seen sterling silver jewelry that has been gold plated. I have also seen sterling silver gold-filled jewelry which is usually gold plated. It sounds like you found a gold plated sterling silver ring manufactured in China.
