Threw out my Excal coil cover and...

landman

I gave the bottom of my coil 5 coats of the truck bed spray paint. I don't care as much of voiding my warrantee if that is even true as much as any interference the paint might cause IF it has any magnetic or metal properties. I guess I'll find out.

I've used the paint and it wasn't quite as durable as the rubberized tool handle coating material.

No-one has had a problem with the spray on bed linner paint causing problems that I have heard of.

I didn't have any problem with mine either.

Maybe that is the way I should have gone landman. I applied the Loctite Marine Epoxy to my 1000 and 1) 800, but have not ever tried the bed liner. I wear through the expoxy in about 2-3 hunts and the black coil shows through. I won't ever go that route again, coil covers for me. I don't need to deal with coil maintenance and potential future coil failure, when it is SO easy to just pop it off after the hunt and wash everything up. Many feel it is a good idea, but I do not agree.

I pull it off after each hunt and rinse it out. That works for me.

I'v herd of other people doing the same as you with the truck liner. I just wash my coil cover out as needed. Some just use a sealent around the edges of the cover so as not to get sand it it,. Good luck and HH
