This question concerns the volume control on the control box. Does the increase of volume at the control box have any effect on the target signal response?
 
If you are talking about the humming sound that the detector makes while you are swinging the coil the answer is no, always run this humming sound at a minimum... I run mine at 8 maybe 9 if there
is alot of noise around me :detecting:
 
Yes, the constant hum is what i referring to.
 
you can hunt without constant hum, but you have detect without discrimination. but if you use discrimination stopping hum is sign that something under coil that you discriminated.
 
In a way it does. If you have your threshold to high weak or deep signals cant break the threshold and WONT give a response.
