Threshold Volume on E-Trac

I am considering upgrading from an Explorer II to the E-Trac, and in doing research I have came up with a question. How variable is the threshold setting? I have been testing the E-Trac Emulator found on the Minelab website and if the "real" E-Trac works the same way; I see a problem. In the Emulator, the threshold is too loud at 26 and silent at 25. I hope this is just in the Emulator. I think this was one of the biggest problem I had with the Explorer XS years ago which was fixed with the Explorer II. Any help would be appreciated.

The threshold doesn't work on the Emulator. It's either on or off. The E-Trac works the same as the Explorer, although the numbers won't be the same.

Thanks for the quick answer. I should have noticed that the volume didn't change when I went above 26 with the emulator.

The programer of the emulator had problems with the threashold part of the programming, you get to a point in computer programming when its either yes or no, that is the point of cutoff.
When yes you can add a value to give a volume but with no you can't.

I run mine at about 18 i think, long time since i looked, but i need it a bit higher to hear above the surf
