Threshold Very Important

This past Monday I got out for a little hunt. Not having much time I went to a vacant lot in downtown Pulaski. There were two houses built around 1880 and I have recovered sever IH pennies. I was working around the base of an old Maple tree and got a very faint reading.

Now I was using the X-Terra-70 with the 10.5 DD 7.5KHz coil. And as we discussed sever weeks ago in this form I had the threshold set on 3.

The TID was so close to the tree that I could not "X" it. At a certain angle I was getting a 30 at 8". At any other angle I got just a slight tone.

At about 7" I recovered a 1852 Setting Liberty Half Dime. Man I though a 3 Cent piece was small. Hard to tell where that half dime might have traveled before being lost sometime after 1880.

Excellent TomB!! Sure glad that this threshold topic was discovered. Sure was a deep one. Good find.

Pulaski??? Like in Pulaski, NY? Good fishing there.

Great find, by the way.

I still have the half dime on my list of "things to do" for 2008. And you are correct, they are very small. At 15.5 mm, the SL half dime is just 1.5 mm larger than the 3-cent silver. And that ain't much! Nice find!!! HH Randy
