Threshold control on Bandido?

action

New member
I have a Bandido and not sure how to adjust the Threshold. The manual doesn't really say. What does it do?I think it is for just a slight audio?
Thanks for any help.

With the Bandido, or any model that has a 'tuner' control, it is used to set a 'proper' slight audio sound in the All Metal mode. That slight audio sound, or 'hum,' is referred to as a "Threshold of Sound" because it is just barely into the audio range from being silent.

Thanks Monte,
You gave me quite a detailed sheet on how to use the Bandido I just didn't understand the threshold. I think I got it now.
Thanks Jack

I believe that the threshold only really affects the audio gain, not the sensitivity of the detector. You will be able to hear those faint targets better(by increasing the audio level), but it wont give you extra depth.

if the Threshold setting is too high in the All Metal mode, that mode is not functional as there would just be a loud audio blare.

If you increase the Threshold setting in the Discriminate mode of some, not all, metal detectors, it acts to saturate the audio response from targets. Let's say you're using a Bandido and you can get a strong audio response from a US 5

Most thresholds today are to establish the audio on all metal and pinpoint. In the old days it was vital to determine the signal you received over a target.
