Thresehold on F75

Cheryl

New member
I want to know if the setting on thresehold in motion carries into discrimination?..If someone can help me here I thanks you bunches!.....

Is not the threshold in disc silent on the f75?? Im pretty sure the ltd is? BUT I could easily be wrong i been in a daze lately :)
Thanks
Grumpy

Thanks everyone for your replies...I've been running in the motion and increased my threshold and audio just at a constant hum .....I was trying to get more depth and also wanting to actually become famliar with the settings...(which I've been doing for the last 3 days)....Now I have this constant pop crack click even when I'm in Disc.mode and the same in motion.(started the strange noise yesterday).........I am afraid I have set it too high and screwed something up....not so sure though.....I have done a factory reset and I'm still getting the pop crack click.........I've done everything that could be causing it like making sure I'm not around electical interference, etc.........I get this pop crack click when I'm not even moving the coil in either modes.....Its like it happens every 30 seconds or so and is constant in the same noise.......There is something wrong I know but I don't know how to explain it.....

the threshold IS silent on the F75 in disc mode.................but it still has a threshold level preset in disc. (The later Shadow X5's were the same way)
I think all Cheryl was asking was if the threshold level chosen in All metal carried over to disc. On the F5 it does......but on the F75 it has a fixed preset threshold in disc.it may be silent............but that dont mean it aint there! :detecting:

First, try different batteries. Some batteries CAN create problems with noise. Also........be certain your coil wire is 100% tight at the control box.
If you did a reset................its probably not something you changed or messed up. if it didnt do it before......it may be something wrong with the unit. Be advised however that RFI interference can change in a given site from day to day.and even times of day. Try tightening the coil wire nut, and change the batteries and see what it does..............
does it still do it without your headphones???

Yes Digger I tried it without my headphones too...I didn't change the batteries because they were good....Will batteries go bad when showing good?...I tried 2 areas that were 10 miles apart.....I haven't checked the coil wire for looseness but I have noticed the toggle switch doesn't feel the same...could it be loose too and maybe cause this and just need to be tightened too? Thank you all and I'll check on the loose coil wire..

cheryl!
you should try a "different" set of batteries!
i use duracel, and have found them to sometimes mitigate interference problems

Thanks jmaryt.....Duracels is what I have.......Energizers is what I should use?........I'm gonna try all that was recommended today .....I'll check in later and let everyone know....But about the toggle switch---------Should it have slight movement?......east to west to north to south?.....not much movement but its there..........It doesn't look to be adjustable to me but not sure......Again thanks....I'm scared to mess with anything...

The toggle will have a bit of movement................but as long as it works ok............I wouldnt worry about it.
That we are we are trying to say about batteries.......is that regardless of the brand.....you will find some from time to time that will cause the machine to act up. Even if the ones in you machine are good....try a different set to see if it solves the problem. Brand doesnt really matter........as long as they are quality alkalines.
I used to use Duracells....but had a string of probs with them.............so stopped using them. They are probably ok........and I just got a bad batch...... but it left a bad taste in my mouth.
I Switched to energizers , and had very good luck with them. THEN I discovered that Rayovacs are made by the very same company, and work just as well as the energizers. They are cheaper......so I use THEM now. Anyway........................brand does not really matter. You can get a bad one with any brand. The point is................to swap yours out for a different set to see if it improves things....

Ok!......I cleaned up the fisher 75 and it looks mighty nice again....:wiggle:...I took the cable completely out and reconnected it---I took her out for a walk and she was on her best behavior.....I managed to find 4 quarters -2 dimes -2 pennies - 3 nickles...a stop watch and.I think I found another musket ball too.....I'm new to the musket balls and just been tossing them in the trash....I seen where someone posted a pic here on the fisher forum and thats how I now know what they are .....but anyhoo I think my noise problem is fixed.....Didn't change the batteries but had some on stand by just in case......I feel so much better and I want to thank all again for your help......:clapping:.....:detecting:

a little "slop" is ok!..just a little!.."take-up" wiggle before the toggle engages.
