Three weeks of gold

Been hitting the totlots. The hell with the hard dirt for now. Found the flower earring today(far left) is 14k, 5 diamonds, saphire center. Will post a note at the place I found it, if someone calls and describes it correctly she can have it back. The ladies ring is 14k with 34 tiny diamond chips, wife likes this one. The childs ring is 10k, says BOY. The bracelet is 10k, and the religious medal is 14k. I'm wondering if the totlots will be as productive when summer vacation starts.

What is totlots? And where are they located?

Every where, at elemntary schools and at parks. It's where the swings and sliding boards are. Usually have wood chips on the ground, search the chips. Be careful not to dig too deep, they have a fabric membrane under the chips.

Congrats, what machine do you have? Thooought at first you said toilets.
lol. I have heard of folks finding rings left in restrooms before. And come to mind I wonder how many rings have kerplunked in to toilets in the middle of business?

the totlots. Just searching the surface for newly dropped stuff. I listen for the double beep that surface stuff will make and then move the chips with my shoe.

I have been to 5 different tot lots and found 2 pennies 1 dime and one quarter. Not much maybe I am doing something wrong.

Some times its just being in the right place at the right time. Some one else may have just hit those sites. These are great places to find jewelry, but timing is everything.

Dang dude, you are doing good! But I would dig some of those deeper targets too. You may be a spots no one else has hit yet. Congrats.

I'm searching shallow only in totlots where I did a deep search before. I always remove any junk so I don't have to deal with it again, and I bend down and pickup any junk I see on the surface. I would say timing is important, others are searching it too, so I go frequently for a quick surface scan. Usually I find just a few coins. The stuff in the photo were all newly dropped. I eyeballed the earring laying right on the surface of old matted down chips yesterday, my first time at that totlot. Went back again today, did a more thorough search, found only deep coins, no jewelry. Posted the note about the earring.

Timing is right - I hunt the same when water is cold or not available. found 11 gold items in them last year and a silver half. a year or two ago I found an 1800 silver dollar in one. Sometimes you get zilch (probably behind someone else) sometimes you hit a goodie. Usually dont find any gold of high value but gold is gold, particulary at $700 an ounce and expected to reach $850.

I do the same thing. I pickup all the trash I see and everything I dig up. I try to take care of the great place God has created for us to live and play.

I swing the vaquero.
