Three ring weekend

Treasure Mike

New member
Found the silver ring at a playground in the wood chips on Saturday morning. Saturday afternoon I was searching the sidelines of a soccer field and I got a 12 hit on the MXT's VDI meter. Down about one inch was this 1.6 gram 14 K gold band size 5. Sunday I went to a sports complex that has several soccer and baseball fields. This place is huge- it must be over 20 acres. I have found several gold rings there last year. Well this time I decided to search the grass strip between the parking lot and the fields. It's about 30 feet wide and 250 yards long. I spent about two hours and I dug everything that registered from 12 on up. As you can imagine I dug something about every few feet, including a old rusted Zippo lighter and about $3.00 in change. Then I got a very loud 16 hit on the MXT. By the sound I knew it was just barely under the turf. Down less than an inch was a men's 3.6 gram 14 K band. It has what appears to be three small diamonds. What a weekend! Thanks for looking. Mike

Wow!!!!!! You have done it again. Great finds!!!!!! Congratulations, the way you work you deserve good finds.

Good luck and have fun, Bob

I'm new to the MXT. What range, first of all, do you know nickels hit on your machine? On the VDI meter I mean. I know you have posted very precise VDI meter readings for the whole slew coming up thru rings...but I can't find that post. I also don't have any guide books at all, I got this MXT off a old hunter that is retired from hunting. Thanks in advance. P.S. Great finds!

Hi helmsdeep,

Welcome to the forum. There is a site operated by Chris Ralph that has a wealth of information about the MXT. The address of his site is:
