Three coins , 2 silvers ,1 off the bucket list

Took the Vaquero with stock coil to an old park today. Went to the thickest areas of brush I could get into. The area I hunted will be inaccessible soon when it starts to grows , right now things are just starting to turn green. Most of my hunting was done in all metal then I would switch to disc whenever I hit something. The first coin was right on the edge of some thick brush. It sounded good in all metal and even better in disc , maxing all the way out. I was thinking quarter but out pops a shallow 1943 S Merc. A little bit later I got a strong can signal but there was a nickle signal next to it . Three to four inches down comes a 1937 Buffalo nickle. Soon I saw an opening in the undergrowth . I fight my way in even getting on my hands and knees . In a short time I get a real loud signal. Switched to disc and it was blaring and again it maxed out. I knew this was going to be good. Out pops my first ever Standing Liberty quarter. There is no date. Those were the only three coins I found. The Vaquero was smoking today .

Nice work there Hatpin.

You just don't find standers everyday, it's been years since I've found one.

In all metal those rusty cans give a high piercing sound . I could pick out another sound though . Switched to disc. and it was easy to separate .

Man that's a great day! You're getting me pumped up to get out and do some detecting.:detecting:

What a day, those are 3 awesome coins in one hunt. I can't wait to get back out detecting. I am sure you are building a great relationship with the Vaq with each and every experience. I have a lot of tight brush areas to hunt as well and now is the time to do it.

It looks like you had a heck of hunt tone time. It would take all I had not to fight my way back in the brush even further to find some more coins like you did. You had an amazing day. Hope you find some more coins like that. Pictures like that make me want to get out there and hunt. Good luck and HH

Well I wish I was the one who found these today, Hatpin is the man! But I am encouraged to get out and hunt.

I have found close to 100 coins here but they are now few and far between . I dont have another good place to go , so I have to work hard for them . The bad part are those tiny little thorns on this one plant. Those things must have poison sacs . So small you cant see them but man they swell up .

The main reason I search in all metal is because all of the leaves on the ground. Sometimes I can barely hear a signal , but when I kick several inches of leaves away I get a strong signal. A lot of the coins I find would not be detected in discrimination mode.

Good tip on the wet leaves there Hatpin, so many things affect a signal not like a 'textbook hit' in a clean dirt test garden....nice SLQ..:clapping:
I'm still looking for one myself...great job!:beers:

Well done on finding those 3 stunning coins :clapping:

You are hitting them coins good. I like useing the vaquero and the Silver in all metal. Than switch to disc to check it. You got to watch them little stickers. I been in them bushes before. They hurt. Good job... KEN. Ind.

The leaves are not wet , there is an accumulation of them and the coil is several inches off the ground. All metal does a better job at getting a signal.
