Three and a Half Hours In The Lane...Broke Into The Disco Era

Seems that the majority of what I found was from the 70's and 80's. All the quarters and nickels and several of the times were 25 to 30 years old. Interesting on the clad count, don't you think? Seems like a perfect balance...maybe less pennies than I expected, but that's cool. All was in the wet sand and shallow water and between them being deep and fighting the pounding surf, I WORKED for this stuff! I had the full chest waders on and a few times I nearly got carried away by the surf. Love those waders though! Got 'em at Dick's for like $100...perfect for this time of year.

If you keep finding disco era clad you may have to put your dancing shoes on and the John Travolta suit.:yikes: Admit it, you've still got one in the back of the closet.

Kewl,

BDA:cool:

What brand waders are those and do the boots have a steel or fiberglass shank? My detectors tend to null out everytime the coil passes my feet if I wear boots that have a steel shank :( I have regular boots and hip boots that don't have a steel shank and I am now looking for similar waders. My old waders have the steel shank :(

Thanks and Happy Thanksgiving to one and all!!!!

Can't complain. Well except for the part about there not being any gold on the beach. I COULD complain about THAT. But that will get fixed sometime around June, so I guess I'll just wait. :)

Those are Hodgman waders and they DO have a steel shank, but it's a small one. It's not a problem for me with the Excal if I run it out a notch and I like to have a wide swing anyway. If I go right over them it will null but it's knind of a good thing...I use it to get my threshold back when I've gone over some real iron and you know how the threshold takes on the last tone? So if it was a null, you lose it sometimes. Swinging briefly right up close to the boot brings it right back...I kind of like that. But during hunting, the shank isn't a problem.
