Thoughts on Cibola

Thinking about getting a mid-line Tesoro. Don't see much on here about the Cibola. Anyone here have opinions on it.
Thanks

Never owned one but might like to try one depends on the ground you are hunting as well and ,or if you like fixed ground balance or adjustable ground balance machines Have owned the Vaq and regret selling it but have heard great things on the ciblola and some have even modified them to have Manual ground balance

Barry I once owned a cibola , it was a good machine but because of no ground balance it did not work well in my ground other than that its a great machine,

I'm also interested in one. I hope the poster has tried using disc/am target comparison by switching to pinpoint and comparing the signal. Also has anyone tried switching frequencies to test for a change in g/b settings. Thanks

I understand I like being able to adjust the ground balance on mine That is why I have decide to either go with a Tejon again or a Vaquero , But I would like the Vaquero to have a high tone , and not sure if Tesoro still does this or not . That is the main reason I have held on to the Bandito II

Barry,
The Cibola is a very good machine for coins and jewelry and it can be super tuned which makes it even hotter. If your ground isn't too hot you should be just fine with the factory set ground balance. I have a Cibola, golden umax,tiger shark and a vaquero, each one has its place. You won't be sorry with the Cibola, it will fine plenty of goodies for you.If you have any questions drop me a line.
Good Luck:tesoro::thumbup:

I understand and My soil is not to hot and yes some fixed ground balance machines are just fine here as I had a Deleon once and liked it as well but since I have used a manual ground balanced unit as the Vaq and the older Bandito II

Like my Cibola have it set up with the 5.75 concentric coil at the moment since I'm trying to make myself hunt for some gold. Got a dime with it last sunday around 5 1/2", with the stock coil it hit a dime at 7" the week before. I also use it to check iffy signals I get with the Omega as it seems to discriminate out a good target in the trash better, at least where I hunt here in Louisiana.

I have had one for a couple of years,they seem to be a good machine ,the deeptest i have found anything was 8 or 9 inches and that was 2 brass rifle shells. I had shoulder surgery that put me on a shelf for a lot longer than it should have. hope to get back to it when the weather warms up. glad it only wieghts only a couple of pounds,

I purchased a Cibola back in 2006. I already had some other high end machines but wanted to try one. Believe it or not I still grab the Cibola when hunting on land. I dig EVERYTHING above iron and it's paid off. I found 22 gold rings in 2011 and at least 1000 pulltabs. It's lightweight and can swing it all day. I guess I'm just a beep and dig kinda guy. I will always have the Cibola for my go-to machine....

Yeah I've started using mine around a basketball court and in the school play area's trying to find some gold. I've found I can manage about an hour or so of digging mostly trash then its either turn the disc up on it to zinc or grab one of my other detectors and hunt a different part of the school ground for coins.

My cibola is my go to machine as well. I use my vaq for relic hunting. The cibola is good for overall coinshooting and small relic hunting. Looking to get a silver umax or golden umax for strictly coinshooting. Or possibly the compadre for the wife's first.
